SERNA-LOPEZ, VIRGINIA
Our loving mother and grandmother, Virginia Serna-Lopez, age 92, passed away on December 14, 2011 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Mom was born on July 24, 1919 and lived her entire life in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her daughters, Loretta Parenti and her husband, Joe, Gloria Orona and her husband, John, and Yvonne Ramirez; daughters'-in-law, Margie Lopez and Marilyn De La Rosa and her sister, Aurelia Gonzales and her husband, Ralph. She was also survived by her five grandchildren, Felicia Orona, Mark Orona and his wife, Stephanie, Eric Goodwin and his wife, Pam, Javier Lopez and Tina Lopez Leyba; 13 great grandchildren, Marcos Leandro Orona, Grant and Garrett Goodwin, Antionette Ramirez, Lawrence Ramirez, Jr., Andrea Denson and her husband, JD, Taylor Dawkins, Anthony Leyba, Estrella Chavez, Trina Lopez, Angel Lopez, Vonie Lopez, and Toni Lopez; great-great grandchildren, Mya Lee Lopez, Alyssa Chaves, Julian Chaves, Dymonti Lopez, Sierra Mendez, Lilla Lopez, Ava Lee Denson and Julian and Jena Gurule. She is preceded in death by her husband, Epifanio Lopez; sons, Eugene Lopez and Gilbert (Randy) Lopez; grandchildren, Leonard Lopez, Anthony Goodwin, and Renee Goodwin; sister, Ann Romero and three brothers, Julian Serna, Martin Serna and Paul Serna. Friends may visit French University on Sunday, December 18, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited beginning at 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW, Monday, December 19, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Monte Vista Hospice for their wonderful support and loving care that they provided to our (grand) mother. Pallbearers are Mark Orona, Eric Goodwin, Javier Lopez, Anthony Leyba, Lawrence Ramirez, Jr. and Mike Gurule.
