Vivian Joan Sears

JOAN (PAULEY) SEARS September 23, 1936 ~ August 27, 2011 Joan (Pauley) Sears passed away on August 27, 2011 at her home in Felida, WA at the age of 74. She was born September 23, 1936 in Vancouver, WA. Joan was a lifetime resident of Vancouver and attended Vancouver schools. She was known for her beautiful cake decorating and began her career at Grams Bakery, where she was taught her craft by her mother. She then worked for Pay-n-Takit Bakeries, Pastry Pantry, and finally retired from Fred Meyer Bakery. Over the years, she baked and decorated countless birthday, bridal and baby shower, and wedding cakes for friends and family. She enjoyed time with friends and family, boating, traveling, reading, spending time with her grand kids, and quilting. Joan is survived by her husband, Walter "Budd", of 59 years; son, Jeffrey of Vancouver, daughters, Colleen Hegewald of Ridgefield, WA, Stephanie Hankins of Keno, OR, and Lisa Maney of Felida; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Oneta Pauley; and brother, Robert Pauley. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Hostess House, 10017 NE 6th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98685.
