LICHWA, Vivian Margaret (Gilmore), 80, of Wheeling, died Monday, February 16, 2009 in Guardian Elder Care, Wheeling.
Vivian was born January 30, 1929 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Fred and Margaret (Baumgart) Gilmore. She was retired from Children and Family Services of the Upper Ohio Valley and a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. In addition, she was a loving mother and grandmother, an excellent seamstress, and a lover of animals.
In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lichwa, Jr. in 1986; and two sisters, Joan Gilmore and Marcella Wolfe.
Surviving are her five children, Carole Richmond of Wheeling, Diane Rhodes and her husband, Tom of Bridgeport, Ohio, Gary Lichwa and his wife, Margaret of Pickerington, Ohio, Mark Lichwa and his wife, Kathy of Dallas Pike, W.Va. and Wayne Lichwa and his wife, Michelle of Hilliard, Ohio; four grandsons, two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 1-3 and 6-9 pm, Wednesday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Thursday, February 19, 2009 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. Frank O'Kruta as celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
