Wade Bumgardner, 77, of Springfield, died at 4:05 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Wade was born April 15, 1935 in Clinton, TN, the son of James and Maxine Bunch Bumgardner. He married Karen Clark on November 4, 1967 in Rock Island. Wade was an accomplished bowler and won the "Round the Town" tournament in the early 60's. He was a hard-working, happy, funny practical joker who enjoyed bowling, fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Bumgardner; and two sisters, Lucille Kenner and Annie Smith. He is survived by his wife, Karen Bumgardner of Springfield; one son, Michael (wife, Jen) Bumgardner of Hoffman Estates; one daughter, Loretta Hamlin of Mt. Auburn; five grandchildren, T.J., Dustin and Josh Hamlin, and Brayden and Paige Bumgardner; and sisters, Gladys (husband, James) Taylor, Trula (husband, Roy) Smith, Hazel (husband, Wayne) Raper, and Patsy (husband, Phil) Casady. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
