Wallis K. Kangas, 69, of Gwinn, died unexpectedly Friday morning, August 5, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Kangas was born on November 3, 1941 in Negaunee, a son of the late John W. and Doreen (Wallis) Kangas. He was a 1961 graduate of Negaunee High School and was employed for many years in the construction trades. Wallis is survived by five children residing in Texas; two sisters, Doreen "Betty" (William) Pietila of Suomi Location and Sharon (Earl) Hannan of Columbus, OH; one brother, Marvin (Doris) Kangas of Palmer; also several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 11th at 1 p.m. in the Negaunee Cemetery. The Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home is assisting the family where memories may be shared at www.canalefuneral.com
