Wally Peter Oliver, affectionately known as Baba, departed this life on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the age of 87 after a long and meaningful life at his home in Port St Lucie Florida.

Wally Peter Oliver was born on June 29th, 1924 in Trinidad West Indies to Lottie Superville and Ancil Oliver. Wally's mother whom he called (Toutore) died when Wally was just four year old. Wally then lived with his grandmother Alexandrarine Roberts (Mama Sand) on his mother's side. Wally grew up on a sea coast village called Carenage in Trinidad West Indies. Wally had (1) brother Charles Oliver (Durward) deceased and his sisters Sheila Dorothy Felix, and Marie De Four (Girlie) deceased.
Wally grew strong and was very active young man. His grandmother raised him to be a GOD fearing young man and he attended church regularly. Wally was a very strong swimmer and was known as a champion swimmer in the village of Carenage West Indies.

Wally was born at the time of the great depression and so had to forgo main stream education to go to work. At about age (9) Wally went to do odd jobs for an electrical company. Soon the owner realized that Wally was very talented and taught Wally to become a licensed Electrician. When Wally was of age his grandmother Alexandrarine Roberts gave Wally the land she had purchased after years of toil. Even though his grandmother told Wally to keep it all Wally split the land up and shared with his sisters and brother. Wally developed his portion of the land and built a home for his children and other apartments which he rented. Wally always provided shelter for his children. His wish was to always have the property for his children, GOD willing and the generations of his line to come.

Although Wally's education was limited he was a champion for education. He gave all his children opportunities to be educated and always stressed the importance of a solid education. At the age of 65 after moving from Trinidad to make a life for himself in the United States Wally began attending classes and received his high School Diploma. He did it to make certain that all his children and grandchildren would value the need for education. In recognition of his efforts to encourage and promote education the Rockland Delta Foundation an organization in New York that provides scholarships to college students named one of their scholarship funds in Honor of Wally Peter Oliver and his tireless efforts in the pursuit of education.

Wally met his wife of 28 years Olgarene Oliver at his church in Brooklyn New York.. Olgarene and Wally were married at the Ebenezer Pentecostal Church in Brooklyn New York. They lived for many years in Month Vernon New York before moving to Port St Lucie 9 years ago. Wally retired from the Bell telephone company and Olgarene retired from the nursing home business. Wally enjoyed his life with his dear wife Olga and appreciated the warm climate of Port St Lucie Florida.
