Walter Alexander French III, a native of New Orleans passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012. Age 73 years. Father of Walter A. French IV (Christel Davis), and grandfather of Cameron M. French and Madison M. French of Woodlands, TX. Brother-in-law of Ronald J. Reso of Michigan, and two nephews and two nieces. Son of the late Walter A. French, Jr. and Louise Eastin French. Brother of the late Peggy Louise French Reso.
He was a member of St. Louis King of France Church; served as the Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus–Father Francis X. Seelos Council #2878. He was the school crossing guard at St. Francis Xavier and J.C. Ellis Schools. Ochsner Blood Bank proclaimed Walter as the second largest blood donor in its history with 684 credits. He was also a member of the Krewe of Zeus.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11:00 am. Visitation from 9:00 am until service time. Interment to follow in Lake Lawn Park. In lieu of flowers donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 21311 Civic Center Dr., Southfield, MI 48076, The American Red Cross, 2640 Canal St., NOLA 70119, or St. Michael's Special School, 1522 Chippewa St., NOLA 70130.
