DUTKO- Walter Dutko, Jr., "The Rock", 68, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in his home in Centennial, Colorado. Born in Paterson, NJ, he resided in North Haledon NJ where he was Vice President of Finance at Woodward Clyde Consultants for 26 years before relocating to Centennial Colorado in 1991. Walter recently retired as President and COO of CLC Associates, a national planning, entitlements, architecture, land-surveying, and engineering firm in Greenwood Village, Colorado. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1975 from Fairleigh Dickenson University. He was a distinguished member of the United States Army from 1959-1962. He received a Good Conduct Medal and The Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service. He liked to fish, gamble, spend time with his family, and most of all negotiate.
Walter was predeceased by his parents, Walter Dutko Sr. and Anna Dutko (Dral), and his brother Paul Dutko. Walter is survived by his beloved and cherished wife Phyllis (Stark) originally from Long Island, NY. He is also survived by his four children; his daughter Marguerite Maresca (Dutko) and her husband Robert Maresca, his son James Dutko and his wife Meredith Dutko, his daughter Lauren Wall (Dutko) and her husband Robert Wall, his daughter Helena Grissom (Dutko) and her husband Keith Grissom, his sister Sandra Normoyle and her husband Tom Normoyle, and 8 grandchildren; Christopher, Jaclyn, Glenn, Brianna, Alexandria, Michael, James, and Robert.
Walter will always be truly loved and missed - but never forgotten.
Funeral Services will be 8:45 am Tuesday from BIZUB-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 47 Main St., Little Falls and 9:30 am at St. Paul's RC Church, 286 Haledon Ave., Prospect Park. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Visitation on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Department of Veterans Affairs (10C2) c/o Laura Balun, 810 Vermont Ave., NW Washington, DC, 20420 or another Armed Services Charity.
