Rev. Walter J. Olsen Born to Eternal Life May 2, 2010, age 80 years. Beloved husband of Ruth (nee Ross) Olsen. Loving father of James "Jim" (Marilyn), Mary (the late Tim) Steiner and Elizabeth "Liz" (Ed) Schulenberg. Dear grandfather of Diane, Eric and Rachel Olsen, Cassie and Mick Steiner, and Brittany and Ross Schulenberg. Brother of Marion (Frank) Taylor. Walter was preceded in death by his sister Marjorie (and Everett) Lorig. Survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Walter was born March 9, 1930 in Crete, IL to Wallace and Mary (Muirhead) Olsen. He was a graduate of Doane College, Crete, NE in 1952, and Pacific School of Religion in 1956. He was a United Church of Christ pastor in Cambridge, NE; Harlan, IA; Iowa City, IA and retired from St. Mark UCC of Milwaukee, WI. He touched many lives through his ministry and involvement in many organizations including the Milwaukee Liedertafel. His passions included boating, traveling, trains, full communion with the German Protestant Church, and time spent with family at Lake Okoboji.
