Walton Dunn Jr.
Walton Richmond Dunn Jr., 76, a resident of Arnold for the past 14 years, and previously of Waterbury Center, VT and Stowe, VT, died August 13 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis after a brief illness. He was born April 9, 1935 in Summit, NJ, and graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL, where he was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He also attended the University of Vermont. His work surrounded recreational activities and resorts in Stowe, VT. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was a Sergeant in the Vermont National Guard from 1975 to 1995. A member of the Annapolis Coin Club, he was also an active member and volunteer of the Arnold and South River Senior Center, and loved dancing, gardening and recreational sports. He was known for his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Cantone Dunn, whom he married in 1964; son, Charles Dunn and wife Heather of Burlington, VT; three daughters, Courtney Nurre and husband Stephen of Annandale, VA, Jocelyn Weinbaum and husband Bernard of Arnold, and Sara Wing and husband Jesse of Waterbury Center, VT; sister, Bambi Freeman of Stowe, VT; and eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Alexa, Elizabeth and Nicholas Nurre, Nathaniel Weinbaum, Celia and Vincent Wing, and Finn Dunn. A memorial Mass will be offered at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis.
