Waunitta B. Wetter, 87, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, December 5, 2011 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland.

A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, 245 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor, with Dr. J.O. Hosler officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 10:00 until 11:00 Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Napier Parkview Baptist Church. Waunitta was born July 29, 1924 in Benton Harbor to Paul & Lena (Wagner) Johnson. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1942. On May 16, 1959, she married Eldon Wetter in Benton Harbor. Waunitta was employed at V-M Corporation in Benton Harbor and St. Joseph Public Schools as a time-keeper & book-keeper. She was a Charter member of Napier Parkview Baptist Church and a life-long Benton Harbor area resident.

Waunitta is survived by her niece Janette Johnson of Bow, Washington; her nephew Keith Wetter of San Francisco, CA; her great nephew Dylan Tipps of Bow, Washington; her brother-in-law Alvin (Emily) Wetter of Niles, MI; several cousins including-Margaret Schmieding of St. Joseph and Ronald (Sue) Prillwitz of Belmont, MI; and a long-time friend Alma Arent of St. Joseph. She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon on January 2, 1994 and her brother James Johnson on April 26, 2000.
