Waverly Ray Doughtie, 63, of the 1900 block of Merganser Court, Chesapeake, VA, passed away February 1, 2010, in his home. A native of Norfolk, VA, he was the son of the late William H. and Audrey N. Doughtie. He was a Supervisor for J.D. Miles Roofing Company for over 25 years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Judy K. Doughtie; his daughter, Tiffany D. Mollette and husband Ronald III and his son, Tracy W. Doughtie and wife Glynis, all of Chesapeake, VA; a sister, Iris Ann Sawyer and husband J.C. of Portsmouth, VA; a brother, Jeffrey Doughtie and wife Cassandra of Chesapeake, VA; three grandchildren, Savannah, Rebecca and Nickolas Doughtie, all of Chesapeake, VA and a sister-in-law, Frances Doughtie of Portsmouth, VA. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Lee Doughtie. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Park with Rev. Susan Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.
