Mr. Wayne L Nelson, 78, of Okeechobee, FL, died April 30, 2012, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, FL.
Born March 15, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI, he moved to Okeechobee over 20 years ago, coming from Haverhill, where he had resided for ten years.
He had worked in the air conditioning business.
He served in the United States Army and had been stationed in Germany in the 1950's.
He was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in West Palm Beach.
He received his associate degree from Palm Beach Junior College and had attended University of Florida.
He was a member of Fishermen Against Destruction of Environment, Inc.; Public Citizens and Green Peace.
Survivors include his son, Thomas Robert Davis; sister, Karen Brown of Hobe Sound, FL; and two nieces.
