Mr. William Emmett "Bill" Hames, age 75 of McDonough, Georgia passed away February 8, 2012. Bill was born in Atlanta to the late Jack Lemuel and Flora Denice Flippen Hames. He was preceded in death by three brothers. He graduated from Hoke Smith High School Class of 1954 and served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church and retired after 30 years with Commercial Refrigeration Compressors. Bill enjoyed trips to the casino, fishing and watching TV and movies. Survivors include his wife, Jean Hames; children, Linda (Ronnie) Decesare of McDonough, Billy (Michele) Hames of Locust Grove, James (Cindy) Hames of McDonough, Liz Whittington of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Roxanne Poppell, Ryan Hames, Serena Decesare, Hannah Hames, Jordan Whittington, Briana Corum, Nick Hames; great grandson, Tristan Holloway; several nieces. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Chaplian Dave Riley will officiate. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, GA 30253 in memory of Bill Hames.
