William "Bill" H. McVay, 70, Elkhart St., Wakarusa, Ind., died at 5:10 p.m. Thurs. July 26, 2012 at his residence. He was born April 19, 1942 in LaPorte to Wilbert E. & Irma I. (Houston) McVay. He married Sandra "Sandy" (Curtis) McVay on Dec. 14, 1963.
Surviving are his wife, Sandy, daughter Tricia (John) Foster, Wakarusa, son, Timothy W. (Pamela) McVay, Coloma, Mich., 6 sisters, Betty Lynn Bagwell, LaPorte, June Suzanne Lenig, LaPorte, Nora Ann (Richard) Sherwood, Union Mills, Barbara Jean (Craig) Homan, Valparaiso, Beverly Sue (Anthony) Baima, Union Mills, Nancy Ione Blunk, LaPorte, 2 brothers, Raymond Eugene McVay, Knox, Robert Allen (Nancy) McVay, Laporte and 5 grandchildren. Preceding him in death are brothers, James & Richard Guy McVay.
Bill was a 1960 graduate of LaPorte High School, 1968 graduate of Bethel College with a BA and a 1992 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a MBA. Now a retired minister, he was ordained in 1971 at LaPorte Missionary Church, currently a member at the Wakarusa Missionary Church.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sun. July 29, 2012 at the Wakarusa Missionary Church, 202 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa, where the service will be at 11 a.m. Mon. July 30, 2012. Pastor Paul Commons will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte. Memorials may be directed to the Wakarusa Missionary Church.
