Wappingers Falls - William M. Boyle, 62, a twenty five year Wappingers Falls resident previously of Massapequa, Long Island, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at home.
He worked for forty years as a splicer and with Fiber Optics with Verizon in Manhattan.
A United States Army veteran, William served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a combat infantryman.
Born in New York City on November 26, 1945, he was the son of the late John Boyle (born in County Cavan, Ireland) and Rose Healy Boyle (born in County Mayo, Ireland). Mr. Boyle attended St. Josephs School in Yorkville, and graduated from St. Helena's High School in the Bronx.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Joseph and Lorraine Boyle of Leonardtown, MD, John Boyle of Seaford, Long Island, James and Nora Boyle of Yonkers, Jerry and Debra Boyle of Westfield, NJ, Jeffrey and Debora Boyle of Wantagh, Long Island, Kevin and Jennifer MacKay of Hyde Park, Charles MacKay of Wappingers Falls, Veronica and Dan Callaghan of Glastonbury, Conn., David and Lisa Boyle, and Paul Boyle, all of Pacific Palisades, CA; a brother-in-law, Charles MacKay of Wappingers Falls; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Boyle of Pacific Palisades, and Louise Joy Boyle of Massapequa.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, John and Kevin Boyle, and two sisters, Regina and Rosemary.
There are no calling hours. Cremation has taken place.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Regina Coeli Church, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Fr. Michael Palazzo will be officiating.
Burial of his ashes will be in the family plot in Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury, Long Island.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
