William Brown, Jr., 85, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Bay Tree Nursing Home in Palm Harbor, Florida. Mr. Brown was born in Caperton, West Virginia on March 8, 1923. He served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Navy and kept in contact with his shipmates of the USS Braine through the years. In 1958, Mr. Brown moved his family from Beckley, W. VA. to Clearwater, FL, where he worked in the electrical contracting business. In 1968, he founded his own successful business, AAA Electrical Contractors, Inc. in Port Richey, FL. Mr. Brown had been an active member of Skycrest Baptist Church where he served as a deacon in the past. Mr. Brown was predeceased in death by his first wife, Jean Fogarty Brown; his second wife, Martha L. Brown; a son, Bruce Wayne Brown; and a sister, Flora Foster. He is survived by his son, Dennis William Brown of Odessa, FL; two daughters, Vicki Singleton of Holiday, FL, and Sandy Paschal of Conyers, GA; and two sisters, Rose Marie Helmick of Upland, CA and Eunice Stangle of Tampa, FL. His surviving stepchildren include Paula McCoy, Marsha McCally, Lisa Lucado and Grady (Butch) White. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to gather on Sunday evening, June 15, 2008, at the Sylvan Abbey Memorial Gardens Chapel, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL, 33759, from 6pm until 8pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2008 at 10am at the same location, with burial to follow in the Sylvan Abbey cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 4108 Lamson Ave., Spring Hill, FL, 34608.
