Mr. William Edgar Vaughn Jr., age 79, of McDonough, GA passed away October 30, 2011. Mr. Vaughn was born in Lepanto, Arkansas the son of the late William Edgar Vaughn Sr and Loriene Huffman Vaughn. He was also preceded in death by a son, William Edgar Vaughn III; and sisters, Edie Ferguson and Louise Jones. Mr. Vaughn served his country in the US Air Force. He was retired from the airlines as an aircraft mechanic with Southern Airways after 42 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, supporting his grandchildren in their sporting events, fishing and NASCAR. Survivors are his wife of 59 years Dolores Vaughn, of McDonough; children, William E. Vaughn IV (Debra) of Jacksonville and Susie Emerick (Joey) of McDonough; grandchildren, Amanda & Mark Wilson, Joseph Emerick, Hannah Emerick, Austin Emerick; great grandson, Jack Edgar Wilson; sister, Helen Kiker of Florida and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. Vaughn will be Wednesday, November 2, 2011 – 11:00 AM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8:00 PM.
