William Francis Donlin, 79, beloved husband for 57 years to Gloria (Celeo) Donlin of South Windsor, passed away surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Manchester on April 24, 1933, son of the late James Michael and Mabel Donlin. William settled in South Windsor in 1957 and was a Quality Engineer in the Aerospace industry for 40+ years working for TRW and PCC (Precision Casting Corp.) until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in South Windsor. Bill cherished his family and friends and lived life to its fullest. He was predeceased by two sons, Peter and Steven. In addition to his wife, he leaves five children James Donlin of South Windsor, Susan LeConche and her husband John of South Windsor, Jeffrey Donlin of South Windsor, Maureen Labanara of South Windsor, and William F. Donlin, Jr. and his wife Erin of Tolland; and nine grandchildren, Kelly, John, Justin, Stephanie, Amy, Lindsey, Kelsey, Christopher, and Emily; and many loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves a sister, Pat and was predeceased by a brother, James and sister, Mary. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 6 beginning at 9:15 a.m. from Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd. in South Windsor to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Windsor at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in Center Cemetery, South Windsor. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, August 5 from 4-8 p.m. and Monday from 8:30-9:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Rd., South Windsor, CT 06074.
