Mr. William Franklin "Bill" Shull, 77, of the Waterford Total Life Center in Juno Beach, FL and formerly of Waynesboro, PA, passed away, Tuesday, October 25, 2011, in the Palm Beach Garden Medical Center. Born February 27, 1934 in Lewistown, PA, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Helen Gladys (Bowersox) Shull. Mr. Shull was a graduate of Waynesboro Senior High School with the Class of 1952. He later received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Juniata College in 1956 and also pursued courses of study at Rockford College, Hagerstown Junior College and Penn State University where he completed the Penn State Executive Management in 1977. He and his wife of over 54 years, Mrs. Lois E. (Kisecker) Shull, were married August 3, 1957 in Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro. They spent most of their married life in the Waynesboro area before permanently moving to Florida in October 2007. Mr. Shull was employed at Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, for 33 years where he served as Administrative Vice President for 16 years, spent several years as Group Controller for the machine tool companies of Litton Industries and served as a member of the Board of Directors of Landis Lund Limited, an English affiliate of Landis Tool Company. Following his industrial career, he served as Executive Director of Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce for four years. He also served a Director of First National Bank and Trust Company, Waynesboro, for 26 years, Director of Financial Trust Co., Carlisle, PA for 10 years and Director of Financial Trust Services Company. He was a member of Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, where he served as an elder, sang in the choir and served on various church committees. He also was a member of the Wayne Band for many years, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #731, Waynesboro Country Club; Young Men's Christian Association and Waynesboro Fish and Game Association, all of Waynesboro and National AARP. While living in Palm Beach Gardens, he was a member of Gardens Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir and he was a member of the Polio Support Group of Palm Beach County, FL. Mr. Shull served on numerous Boards of Directors for the Waynesboro area including Waynesboro Hospital where he served as Chairman for three years, Waynesboro YMCA, United Way of Waynesboro, Hearthstone Retirement Home, Easter Seal Society, Rotary Club of Waynesboro, Service Corps of Retired Executives, Franklin County Area Development Corps, Waynesboro Area Development Corps and Waynesboro Beneficial Fund. He served as a mentor in the Waynesboro Area School System for many years and delivered the Commencement address to the Class of 1994. In addition to his wife, Mr. Shull is survived by four children, Deborah S. Sirk of Clarksville, TN, Tamera S. Siegrist of Fayetteville, PA, Lori S. Montague of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Kristin S. Dixon of Woodstock, MD; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; his brother, Joseph A. Shull and his wife Laura of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 30, 2011 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro, with Pastor Bill Shank, officiating. Burial will be private in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Saturday evening, in the funeral home.
