William F. Walsh, III, 69, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Watertown and Lexington, died January 23, 2009 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Marie H. (Graham) Walsh.

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Mr. Walsh was the son of the late William F., Jr. and Margaret (Morley) Walsh. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a Retired Lieutenant of the Watertown Fire Department.

He was a member of BPOE #1513 Watertown, Halligan Club, IAFF Watertown Local #1347, Tomas Cardinal O’Fiaich Div. #14 AOH, the Marine Corps League Shutt Detachment, and the Boston Gaelic Fire Brigade.

Along with his wife, survivors include Bill’s children: William F. Walsh, IV & his wife Patty of Vista, CA; Karen M. Buschini & her husband John of Lexington; Diane M. Fucci & her husband Jack of Lexington; Kevin F. Walsh & his wife Cathy of Braintree; and Elaine M. Conley & her husband Scott of Melrose. He will be greatly missed by his 13 grandchildren: William & Whitney Walsh; Lauren, John, Ryan & Meghan Buschini; Matthew & Amanda Fucci; Liam, Bridie & Declan Walsh; and Aidan & Max Conley.He was the brother of: James A. Walsh of Duluth, GA; Mary T. McCaffrey of Watertown; Thomas M. Walsh (Ret. W.F.D.) of Watertown; Robert S. Walsh of Vista, CA; and the late Edward J. Walsh (Ret. Lt. W.F.D.).

Funeral services for Mr. Walsh will be held from the STANTON FUNERAL HOME, 786 Mount Auburn Street (Route 16), Watertown on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Patrick’s Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown at 10:30 A.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
