William Floyd Dalton, 77, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011. Born in Beauty, KY, he was the son of the late Frank and Nona Dalton. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ellen (Billie) Geressy, Mary Farley, Alma Dean Grissom, Betty Frost, Theresa Dalton; and brothers, Howard, Grantham, Thomas and Raymond, Albert and Francis. He was a Veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars having served 20 years in the United States Air Force. He was retired from Grossman's (Moore's Building Supplies). He was an avid gardener and sports enthusiast. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wreatha Irene; by his three daughters, Carol Sue, Peggy Ann, Angela Lenore; sons-in-law, David Cash and William Huffman; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Ryan, Carson, Mariah, Mitchell and Katherine; brother, E. Huffard Dalton; sister, Dottie Mors; and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. A funeral with full military honors will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel with interment to follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens on Cedar Road in Chesapeake, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roy Collier Community Center, 1200 Main Street, Inez, Kentucky, 41224-9557, a recreation center making lives better for the children, adolescents and families near his hometown. Heartfelt thanks are extended to the healthcare professionals and caregivers who wrapped themselves around us and walked with us on this journey.
