William passed away peacefully in his home on February 8th. Bill was born in Oklahoma City. Son of Gust and Pearl Moises and brother to Helen Garris. San Diego became his home after he visited La Jolla Cove in 1958. He attended OU and served in the US Army for 2 years with the 45th Recon in Korea.
Bill's passion in life was architecture. He worked with Frank Hope and Associates, partnered with Ron Davis and Tom Eads. He had his own firm in La Jolla for several years then established a working relationship with R & V Management in Mission Valley.
He designed medical facilities, commercial buildings, schools, apartments, condominiums and private residences.
Bill met his wife of 37 years, Patricia Demetre Moises, while remodeling St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church. They set out on many adventures including catering, bicycling, traveling, fund raising and volunteering in several charities. Bill collected trains,
loved all types of planes and enjoyed playing golf, especially with his pals in the Friday Golf Group. He got his "hole in one" at Balboa Golf Course.
Bill was a kind, gentle man, with little criticism for anyone. He would ask questions about someone to get to know them, encouraged all to find their passion and attempt to fulfill their dreams.
He was a positive influence in the lives of many and his goodness will go on to inspire others. His sense of humor remained with him until his passing. Bill will be missed by all who knew him.
Trisagion Services will be held at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church on Sunday, February 12th at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services on Monday, February 13th, 11 a.m., at Sts. Constantine & Helen. Donations in his memory can be made to Sts. Constantine & Helen Prime Timers/Baking Group, St. Spyridon's Senior Citizens Group, The Salvation Army of San Diego, Monarch School or the charity of your choice.
