William H. Hinsey, 78, of Niles, Michigan, passed away Friday, June 16, 2006 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Indiana. Bill was born on August 4, 1927 in Whitesville, Kentucky to Ray and Katie Lee (Howard) Hinsey.
Bill retired from the former Waggoners Tractor Barn in South Bend, Indiana in 1987.

On February 15, 1947, Bill married Mary Lacopo who survives. Also surviving with his wife Mary are his four sons, Paul Hinsey of Dowagiac, Michigan, Mark Hinsey of Berrien Center, Michigan, Dennis (Marcy) Hinsey of Niles, Michigan, Gregg (Lynne) Hinsey of Niles, Michigan; four grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Grace & Emma Hinsey; two sisters, Eleanor Hinsey of Vandalia, Michigan, Catherine Payette of Dowagiac, Michigan; and a brother, Bobby (Anna) Hinsey of Culver, Indiana. A son Charles Hinsey and two brothers, Paul & Hilary Hinsey all preceded him in death.

Bill was a navy veteran of WWII, and a member of the teamsters union. He had his own band, Bill Hinsey and the Stringbillies.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 11:30 am Wednesday, June 21, 2006, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Carl Peltz will officiate.
