William H. Nichols

Formerly of Cody, Wyoming, age 84, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008 at Manor Care, Foulk Rd., Wilmington, DE.

Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Boyle) Nichols. William most recently moved to the Claymont area to be near his sister and her family. He was a 1941 Graduate of Claymont High School and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Nichols served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army. Wounded in Anzio, Italy during WWII, he was the recipient of a purple heart and bronze star.

Left to cherish memory is his sister, Patricia Pat C. Swadey of Claymont, DE; 6 nieces; 1 nephew; 4 great-nephews; and 3 great-nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11am, Friday, April 25, at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, where calling time will begin at 10:30am. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
