William H. Sekol, age 86, of Whitehall, passed away Wednesday morning under the care of the Cedar Brook Nursing Home in Allentown. He is survived by his wife, the former Lorraine Lane. Married on June 30, 1951, the couple had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Born in Duryea on September 24, 1924. son of the late Frank and Edna Laird Sekol, William was a graduate of the former Duryea High Scool. Prior to his retirement, he had worked in pharmaceutical sales. An avid reader who enjoyed reading the Bible, he was a longtime member of the Brick United Methodist Church in Duryea. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, he will be dearly missed. He is also survived by his son, Randee Sekol and wife Pamela of Northampton; two brothers, Carl and wife Roberta and Donald and wife Ina, all of Michigan; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephew. His family would like to express their gratitude to Cedar Brook Nursing Home staff for all the care given to William during his stay. Brothers, George and Robert Sekol; and a sister, Ruth Frisbee, also preceded him in death. Funeral services and committal will be conducted on Saturday at noon in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Interment will follow in Marcy Cemetery, Duryea. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on either Friday, between 5-7:00PM, or on Saturday, between 11AM-service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William's name to the Brick U.M. Church, 935 Foote Avenue, Duryea, 18642.
