William Haven "Billy" Rorex, Jr. was born March 4, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, to William Rorex, Sr. and Evelyn Rorex. He went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2011, in Dallas, Texas. Billy accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from West Side High School in Gary, Indiana. He also attended Purdue University at Lafayette, where he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. Billy worked in various industries throughout life, but the last several years of his life focused on general construction. Billy was preceded in death by his wife of over 15 years, Bettie; father, William Rorex, Sr.; brother, Detective Dorian D. Rorex; and nephew, Albert Eller, Jr., all of Gary, Indiana; and uncle and aunt, State Representative Clarence and Lillian Robinson of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He leaves to cherish his memory a most loving and devoted family including his daughter, Jennifer Rorex of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; mother, Evelyn Rorex; and sisters, Deborah Richardson (James) and Deitra A. Rorex, all of Gary Indiana; aunt, Jessie Baker of Dallas, Texas; aunt, Marie Willis of Altodena, California; uncle, L.C. Floyd of Dallas, Texas; niece, LaTona M. Eller of Gary, Indiana; nephews, David and Dorian Rorex, Arnell and Armani Robinson, and Amarie Eller, all of Gary, Indiana; and a host of other relatives and friends. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, William Haven "Billy" Rorex, Jr. will be missed by all who knew him.
