William "Bill" Healy, age 93, a resident of Fairfield for over 60 years, beloved husband of Gertrude Healy, died Friday, May 11, 2012. Born February 2, 1919 in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Michael Healy and Nora Fitzgerald Healy. He attended Seaton Hall University before moving to Westport where he lived for the next ten years. Bill moved to Fairfield and married his wife Gertrude Collins Healy May 31, 1952. After early retirement from Sikorsky Aircraft he began work as an Army Military Marketing Manager for his own private business. His consulting company operated for many years where he just retired from 10 years ago. Bill was a longtime member of the Patterson Club, Gaelic American Club, Association of the United States Army, Army Aviation Association, and American Helicopter Society. Most enjoyable to Bill was spending time with friends and family at his beloved beach home. Survivors include wife Gertrude, daughter Megan McNamara and her husband John of Fairfield, sister Eleanor Bednash of Westchester, IL, grandchildren, J.P., Libby, Tara, and Annie McNamara all of Fairfield. He is predeceased by his brothers John, Frank, Joseph, and Harold. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10 AM meeting DIRECTLY at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Rd., Fairfield, burial will be private.
