William (Bill) Lewis Melson, is the son of Lynwood Lewis Melson and Lella Elizabeth Kellam, passed away June 9, 2011. He was born April 28, 1937 at the hospital in Nassawadox on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Initially Bill lived near Craddockville, VA, which included his two step-sisters, Myrtle Ethel (Ward) who is now at the nursing home in Nassawadox and Fannie Mae (Irving), deceased. When Bill was a young child, the family moved to Portsmouth, VA. During Bill's earlier years, he was a paratrooper after which he was employed by the Navy Yard. He married Anita A. Gautier of Winton-Salem, NC on September 5, 1967 at Elizabeth City, NC. They made their home in Chesapeake, VA. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011, in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood.
