Mr. William Lloyd Gordon, 85, also known as "pussy-foot" and "Pap" to many, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in The Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg. He lived in Mercersburg for most of his life. Born in Reidsville, MD on August 15, 1926, he was the son of the late Lloyd S. and Bessie V. (Hull) Gordon. He was married for 42 years to the late Martha Jane (McDonald) Gordon, until her death Feb. 2, 1998. He worked as a carpenter most of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going for rides, cooking and family. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Kim W. Higgins, wife of Paul, Mercersburg, PA; two sons: Reed S. Gordon Sr., husband of Sue, Mercersburg, PA and Scott Gordon, husband of Karen, Harrisonville, PA; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son: Phillip L. Gordon, who died December 31, 2005, and two brothers: Joseph and Wilbur Gordon. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 3, 2012, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle.. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
