SHIVER - William M. "Crone" Shiver, Jr., age 81, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Jill Shiver of Albuquerque, NM; sons, William Miles Shiver III and wife Janet, Jim Shiver and wife Charm, and Todd Shiver, all of Albuquerque; step-children, Rob Gott of Ft. Worth, TX, Niki Hawver of Alpharetta, GA, and Mark Gott of Veguita, NM; sister, Marguette Holmes of North Port, AL; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, William Miles Shiver V, Maxwell Richard Shiver, and James Dana Elmer. Crone proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He later worked for Albuquerque Gravel Products from where he retired after many years of service. Following retirement, he found great joy in building and flying radio control airplanes and models. During his daily one mile walks, he would give treats to all of the neighborhood dogs and cats. Per Crone's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2011, 1:00 p.m., at French - Wyoming Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Marion Military Institute 1101 Washington Street, Marion, AL 36756, in the name of William M. Shiver, Jr.
