GRAFTON: William M. Lemoine passed away October 8, 2011 at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. His wife of 57 years, Mary (Murray) Lemoine predeceased him in 2008. Bill leaves a son, Mark Lemoine of Worcester, and two daughters, Gail Cather and her husband Jack of Worcester, and Jane Lemoine of Grafton; one grandson, Billy, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves a brother-in-law, Joseph Murray and his wife Carol of Brookfield, and a sister-in-law Anne Hinds and her husband Carson of Georgia. He is predeceased by one brother Norman Lemoine and five sisters; Dorothy Champlin, Lorraine Leonard, Alma Rogers, Bernice Martin and Janet Hearn. Bill was born June 26, 1925 in Worcester to Norman and Ellen (Durkin) Lemoine. He was a graduate of Commerce High School and Worcester State College, class of 1951. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII serving in Guam. While attending Worcester State, he worked as a police officer for the Worcester Police Dept. He then taught special education in the Worcester schools for over 25 years. Bill also earned his pilot's license and became a flight instructor out of Westboro Airport and Amity Airways at Worcester Airport. Bill enjoyed trips to the beaches in Rhode Island with his family and loved tending to his gardens. He was so proud of his grandson, Billy, and enjoyed telling him stories of WWII. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to The Rose Monahan Hospice Residence 10 Judith Road Worcester MA 01602. His family would like to thank Elder Services of Worcester, the Southboro VNA Hospice, and all the wonderful caretakers at his home and at Rose Monahan Hospice. CALLING HOUR & FUNERAL MASS A calling hour will be observed from 9:30 to 10:30am on Wednesday October 12th at RONEY FUNERAL HOME 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton MA 01536. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated following the calling hour at 11:00am at St. Mary's Church 17 Waterville St. N. Grafton MA 01536. He will then be laid to rest with Military Honors with his wife at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton.
