William P. Garland, of McDonald, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 5:10 a.m. at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 52 years old. Bill, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on November 30, 1957 in Youngstown the son of Ray and Dorothy (McCormick) Garland and was a 1976 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School. Bill was the owner and operator for the last 26 years of Ban Gar Construction. He enjoyed clay shooting, farming and jet skiing. Bill is survived by his wife of 20 years the former Cinde Readshaw whom he married on November 25, 1989; three children Stephanie (Nick) Danadic of Niles, Jesse Garland of the home and Nicole (Terry) Allen of Mineral Ridge; two granddaughters Haley and Faith; two grandsons Austin and Noah; his parents of McDonald; two sisters Patricia Proud of Austintown and Tammy (John) Buzzelli of McDonald; and two brothers Ray (Robin) Garland of Huron and John (Vicki) Garland of McDonald. Calling hours will take place on Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 2 until 5 p.m. in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, Ohio, 44515, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Bill's request was to have memorial contributions be made to the Mineral Ridge Football Moms, c/o Joyce Thomas at the Mineral Ridge Branch of Farmers National Bank.
