William R. Belch, Sr. (Bob), of St. Julian Dr., Chesapeake, VA, went to be with the Lord June 14, 2011, at the age of 76. He was born in Bertie County, NC and was predeceased by his father, G.W. Belch and mother, Permelia W. Belch of Ahoskie, NC. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Peggie Belch of 50 years; brother, M.W. Belch of Maryland; and sister, Mollie B. Sain of North Carolina; daughter, Debbie Parrish (Foster); and sons, Jimmy Belch (Angie), Bart Belch, William R. Belch, Jr. (Dawn), Mark Belch Sr., Mark Belch Jr., and David L. Belch; brother-in-law, Billy Rose (Beverly); along with 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served 2 years in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, attended NC State Truck Driving School and was a Teamster Driver of Spector Freight Lines. He was owner of Belch Trucking Company and a retired driver of 52 years. He was a proud member of Deep Creek Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. The viewing will be at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Deep Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Ryals and Rev. Ernie Myers officiating. The entombment will follow in the Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Deep Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 250 Mill Creek Parkway, Chesapeake, VA 23323. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
