Funeral services for William Rodney Cunningham, 39, of Somerville are set for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Yegua Center in Somerville with Rev. Ricky Dowling officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mr. Cunningham passed away on November 7, 2011. Rodney was born October 1, 1972 to William Glenn Cunningham and Mary Bailes-Cash in Brenham, Texas. Rodney was a member of the Birch Creek Gun Club and past vice-president of the Caldwell Little League. He coached Little League and a Tournament Team and enjoyed hunting, fishing, dominoes and cards. Rodney loved his children and enjoyed spending time with them. Rodney is survived by his wife, April Cunningham of Somerville, sons; Nathan, Kyle, and Travis Cunningham of Somerville, his parents; Glenn and Mary Cunningham of Somerville, sister and brother-in-law; Brandie and Brandon Vollentine of Cooks Point, paternal grandmother; Henrietta Cunningham of Somerville, nephew and niece; Hayden and Emory Vollentine, and numerous aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother; Shawn Cunningham, paternal grandfather; Billie Cunningham and maternal grandparents; Thomas and Pearl Cash, father and mother-in-law; Lloyd and Dorothy Poehl. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, to the charity of your choice, or a trust has been set up for the Cunningham boys through Citizens State Bank.
