Virginia Beach- William Thomas Moran, Jr. VIRGINIA BEACH - William Thomas Moran, Jr., 74, of the 3500 block of South Plaza Trail, passed away Dec. 27, 2009, at his home. A native of New York, he moved to Virginia Beach after retiring from the U.S. Navy and was employed as an electronics technician with Raytheon for more than 20 years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree council 4362; 4th Degree Assembly 1505 Knights of Columbus and the The Ancient Order of Hibernians. He is survived by his wife, Mary Moran; three daughters, Barbara and husband Jerry Whitehead, Patricia and husband Jeffrey Hoecker, and Kathy Moran; sister Patricia O'Brien; brother James Moran; four grandchildren, Brian Whitehead, Kevin Whitehead, Serena Hoecker, and Matthew Hoecker. He was predeceased by his sons, William Thomas Moran III and David Moran; his father William Thomas Moran, Sr., and his mother Margaret Moran. A funeral mass will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church 712 Little Neck Rd., Virginia Beach by Monsignor William Pitt. The family will receive friends in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd. Chapel on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be made to hdoliver.com
