William W. Freauff, 77, of Platteville, CO passed away Saturday, December 16, 2006 at North Colorado Medical Center. Graveside inurnment will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Mizpah Cemetery, Platteville. William was born November 13, 1929 in Frederick, CO to William and Marie (Feuerstein) Freauff. He married Janice Brotemarkle on November 4, 1951 in Platteville. He had lived in Platteville his entire life, where he graduated from high school in 1947. He worked for the Great Western Sugar Company for 10 years and was a farmer for most of his life. William served in the U. S. Army from 1952-54. He loved to weld, making numerous iron sculptures. He had received an award fro soil conservation and many awards for High Ten Beet Grower. He loved all sports and was an outstanding athlete in football and basketball. William is survived by his wife, Janice “Ruth” Freauff of Platteville; son, William R. Freauff of Platteville; daughters, Judith Lynn McNulty and husband, Mike, of LaSalle, CO and Nancy Ann Rapp and husband, Keith, of Cave Creek, AZ; grandchildren, Gregory Dean Conradson of Greeley, Amy Brown of Phoenix, AZ, Tracy Campbell of Centennial, CO and Shelly Rapp of Phoenix, AZ; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made the Platteville Pioneer Museum in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th Street, Greeley, CO 80631.
