Willie Fort Waters, Sr. 74, of Bloomfield, CT; husband of the late Sylvia (Jean) Waters, went to his rest on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital. Willie was born in Americus, GA to the late Fort & Ceola Waters on June 17, 1938. In 1941, Willie, along with his family moved to Hartford, CT. He attended Hartford Public High School. Willie was a Screaming Eagle Paratrooper with the US Army from 1960-1962. While serving our Country, he met and married his late wife of 50 years – Sylvia "Kitten" Waters. "Foe" as he was affectionately called, was employed by the United States Postal Services for over 45 years until his retirement in 2005. Willie "O.T. Will" was an excellent employee, who rarely used any sick days or vacation time (often being told by management to use them or lose them). He was also an LSM trainer at the Hartford Post Office. He was the "go-to" person whenever you had questions regarding your finances and how to successfully manage and maintain them for future financial security. He was a member of the Breakfast Club, and owned multiple properties. He will be deeply missed, but leaves to cherish precious memories, his six loving children: Marian Wallen of Manchester, CT; Elitsa D. Waters of Bloomfield, CT; Kevin (Cemonia) and Curtis, both of Hartford, CT; Darryl (Jule) Waters of Hamden, CT and Janine Waters of Hartford, CT., Eighteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his sister, Mildred Wright of Trenton, NJ; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia, son, Wally and grandson, Phillip. He was also predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
