HERNANDEZ, WILLIE
Age 90, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Michael Hernandez of Moreno Valley, CA, David Hernandez of Fontana, CA, Mary Francis (Lonnie) Ainsley of Memphis, TN, Theresa Hernandez of Redlands, CA. He is survived by ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Willie is also survived by dear friend and guardian, Tony (Antonio) R. Jaramillo and family, Mr. Damian (Valerie) Jaramillo and family, and friend Maria Hammonds. Willie was preceded in death by his wife, Maria E. Hernandez; son, Tony J. Hernandez; parents, Carlos and Francisquita Hernandez; and four brothers and five sisters. He was a member of DAV, American Legion, VFW, the American Military Society and Retired Enlisted Association. Willie served 22 years, retiring as a Master Sgt. He served in numerous Wars and overseas assignments in Germany, Sicily, Korea and Japan. He received two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star and was a member of the Eminent Society of Border Legionnaires Waldmuchen. Willie was an avid Pool player, loved wrestling and participated in numerous activities at the Kirtland AFB Gymnasium. Rosary will be recited February 9, 2012, 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee, Albuquerque with Mass of Resurrection to follow at 10:00 a.m., Father Michaelangelo Cimino, Celebrant. Interment will follow services at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
