Willie Lee Wallace was born on December 3, 1925 in Cordele, GA. He was the only child of the late Samuel and Julia Wallace. Willie accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He later united with Saint Peter A.M.E. Church in 1972. He enjoyed singing and was a member of The Inspirational Choir for more than 30 years. He loved Bible Study and spent many, many hours studying the Bible. He especially enjoyed the book of Psalms. Willie was educated in Atlanta, GA Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and later served in the U.S. Air Force in which he received an Honorable Discharge in 1948. He attended Tennessee A & I College where he met and married Jane Kelley on January 22, 1949. They had one child (Lamont). He was very proud of his church and his family. Willie was employed by the City of St. Louis. He worked as a correctional officer at the City Workhouse until retirement in 1986. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2012 with his wife Jane near his side. Willie leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Jane; his son, Lamont (Sandral); 1 grandson, Jordan and a host of other family and friends.
