Wilma Linda Heffinger, 70, of the 2200 block of Dellwood Road, Chesapeake, VA, passed away October 28, 2009, in Maryview Hospital. A native of Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Louise Sawyer. Wilma was a devoted member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Philip G. Heffinger; her daughter, Rebekka A. Candillo and husband Robert, two granddaughters, Meggan and Emily Candillo, all of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Betty Stark and husband Ted of National City, CA and Jean Watt and husband Joe of Westville, OK; three brothers, Tom and Lynn Sawyer of Azalea, OR, Tim and Sarah Sawyer of Westville, OK, and Ted and Lily Sawyer of Westville, OK; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel with Rev. Larry Ryals officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
