Wilson “Sonny” Lazaro was born on May 26, 1950 in Tarlac, Philippines to Attorney Jose B. Lazaro and Delia del Rosario. He was the eldest son followed by his brother Benjamin Lazaro in 1953. In 1974, the Lazaro family immigrated to the United States and resided in San Francisco. Thereafter, on January 3, 1976, he married the love of his life, Margarita Lucente. They joyfully welcomed their first child, Janel Marie in 1977 and Daryl Wilson in 1981. Sonny devoted his life to provide a stable home, served as a spiritual role model in his devout Catholic faith with his children and ensured they received a good education.
For 26 years, he was a proud mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Santa Clara, CA where he was well loved by his colleagues and customers. He will always be well known as the guy with the signature happy smile and happy demeanor. People were always drawn to his warm presence.
Sonny enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, jazz music, dancing and most especially, he loved the adventure of eating different cuisines. One thing is for sure, he loved dessert. Even more so, Sonny enjoyed meeting new people, making people feel comfortable, and enjoyed a good laugh.
Papa, we will forever miss your loving presence and humorous nature. However, we find comfort in knowing that you are back Home with our Dear Lord along with loved ones who have passed. We will continue to keep you present in our lives by always remembering happy memories we shared. Most importantly, thank you for being our father. God graced us and honored us with a loving and devoted man who we proudly called, Papa.
