Woodzell Gibbs was born August 5, 1942 in Hamburg, Arkansas to Lester and Lina Gibbs, who preceded him in death. Woodzell was the eldest of four children. At the age of one Woodzell and his parents moved to St. Louis, MO. He attended Bates Elementary School, and was a graduate of Hadley Technical High School where he had perfect attendance for all four years. After high school, Woodzell worked for McDonnell Douglas, where he entered the machinist program and became a journeyman Machinist, which is the top of his trade. Woodzell then went to work for The Worthington Corporation, were he traveled the country repairing machines. After any years at Worthington, Woodzell accepted a request from Anheuser-Busch to work for them. Woodzell accepted Christ as a child and attended Maple Temple Church of God in Christ with his mother. Later Woodzell became a member of Faith Miracle Temple, along with his wife. There he received the Holy Ghost. God called Woodzell home to rest on January, 11, 2012. Woodzell leaves to cherish his loving memory; his wife, Walterine; five daughters, Kimberly A. Tobias of Houston, TX; Rashell R. Angell (James) of St. Louis, MO; Tylanna Patton of Fort Worth Texas, TX; Alicia Buford of St. Louis, MO, and Fatisha Holloway of Nashville, TN; one son, Woodzell Gibbs, II, who preceded him in death; one sister, Justine Crawford (William) of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Carl L. Gibbs (Teresa) of St. Louis, MO; and one brother, Lester Gibbs, Jr., who preceded him in death; one aunt, Laverne Tillman of St. Louis, MO; two uncles, John B. Gibbs of Hamburg, AR, and Lenard Gibbs of Los Angeles, CA; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
