BOMFORD, Wright, Jr., age 86, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK. He was born to Wright and Faye (Knapton) Bomford, Sr. on December 18, 1923 in Miami, OK. He was a long time Tulsa resident, moving to Tulsa with his family in 1931. He graduated from Tulsa Central High in 1940 and the University of Tulsa in 1947; where he was a member of Lambda Chi Fraternity and Navy ROTC. He served as a U.S. Naval officer on the destroyer U.S.S. Hawkins during World War II, and at the Navy Dept. in Washington D.C during the Korean War. During his career he worked in many areas of real estate including mortgage banking, commercial and residential building, commercial lending, and appraising. He and his partners built many commercial and residential properties in Tulsa, he also served as Vice-President of Commercial Lending at State Federal Saving and Loan (currently Arvest Bank) in Tulsa, and as a commercial real estate appraiser. He is a former member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa, and the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers (NAIFA). He is survived by: wife Eugenia Bomford, son Roger Bomford (and his wife, Cristiane Scolfaro) of Albuquerque, NM, daughter Diane Wallace of Tulsa, step-son William (and his wife, Gwen) Schultheis of Tulsa, step-daughters Stacia (and her husband, Robert) Faith, Jr. of Oconomowoc, WI, Amy (and her husband, Tim) Henry of Tulsa, 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister Susie Acar in 2001. He was a true Oklahoma gentleman, a wonderful and cherished family member and friend. We are all grateful for his contribution to our lives, and we celebrate his life.
