Yvonne Elaine Washington-Orr, "Squeaky" was born on November 4, 1955 in Elizabeth, New Jersey the daughter of the Late Louise and Rufus Washington. Squeaky was educated in the Elizabeth Public School System and graduated from Battin High School in 1974. She was employed by the U. S. Postal Service in Kearny, New Jersey for fourteen years. She was married to Thomas Orr, Sr. In 1978, she became a dedicated member of Glorious Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Elizabeth under the Pastorship of the Late Reverend Ronald L. Carter, Sr. and present pastor Reverend Vanessa A. Nero. Yvonne was a gifted musician and choir director who had the voice of an angel. She nurtured and treasured the friendships she made and was a devoted mother to her children and extended family members. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. Squeaky was predeceased by her daughter, Shanique Denise Washington-Vines in 2006. She was called home to glory on December 4, 2011 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Yvonne leaves to cherish fond memories her precious children: Shikiya Washington-Martin (Lamar), Raheem L. Orr, Sr. (Milarah), and Daniel Galman III; step-children: Thomas Orr, Jr. (Keisha), and Rashon Orr; six grandchildren: Amber Orr, Ashley Davis, Oryyon Vines, Amaiyah Martin, Raheem Orr, Jr., and Jhanae Martin; step-grandchildren; sisters: Daisy Rosebure, Lavettie Felton-McGhee of Roselle, New Jersey, and Robin Washington-Johnson of Elizabeth, New Jersey; four brothers: Kintu N'Gata Masaba of Kingston, North Carolina, Kenneth Washington of Lumberton, North Carolina, Ronald L. Washington, Sr. and Maurice Varnado of Roselle, New Jersey; dear devoted companion, Daniel Galman, Jr.; God-children: Jamillah Thomas, Tanaya Clayton Rose, Wakeem Jones, William Wright and Tiana; brother-in-law, Richard McGhee; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Porter and Susan Washington; aunt, Thelma Steele, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
