Zelma Faye (Stanley) Conner entered into Eternal Rest on February 2, 2012. Zelma was born October 13, 1926 to Dean and Grace (Craven) Stanley in Richmond, Missouri. Zelma and her twin sister, Thelma (Stanley) McGuinn were numbers 9 and 10 in a family of 11 children. It was while in fifth grade in Richmond that she met her husband, Robert (Bob) Conner. Zelma and Bob celebrated 63 years of marriage on March 31, 2011. Zelma and Bob made their home in Grandview, Missouri, in 1958. She was a loving mother to Cheryl, Steve, Keith, and Shirley. She also found time to work at House of Fabrics, Penney's, and later, as a clerk for the Social Security Administration. Known for her expertise as a seamstress, Zelma made everything from clothes for her children, to suits and coats for her husband. She was a member of the Grandview Historical Society, and loved writing stories about her life and researching family history. Zelma was an awesome grandmother to her grandsons, Austin Conner Phillips and Taylor Allen Conner. She was loving, kind, patient, and most of all, FUN! She was preceded in death by her daughter Cheryl Conner. Zelma is survived by her husband, Bob Conner of the home, sons Steve Conner and his wife Pam of Lee's Summit, Keith Conner of Lee's Summit, daughter Shirley Phillips and husband Randy of Grandview, sister Thelma McGuinn, brothers Dorris Stanley and Clarence Stanley, and grandsons Austin and Taylor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzeheimer's Association, Heart of America Chapter in Prairie Village, Kansas.
