James Billy "Rusty" Morgan, age 79, of Crossett, AR passed away on February 15, 2012 at Ashley County Medical Center. He was born on July 5, 1932 in Beekman, LA to his parents, Phillip Vernon and Letha Mae Butcher Morgan. Mr. Morgan retired as a millwright after 42 years of service for Georgia Pacific. He was a member of Crossett Masonic Lodge # 576, and the Scottish Rite. He also was a Shriner and served in the Louisiana National Guard for eight years. Mr. Morgan was a charter member of the Klassy Kruzers. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon Morgan, Derwin Morgan and a sister, Hilda Mae Schultz.
Survivors include his wife: Charlene Morgan; sons, Mike Morgan (Linda) of W. Monroe, LA, Dick Erwin (Tina) of Conway, AR; daughters, Blanche Donaldson of Crossett, AR, Karen Scott of Seattle, WA; five grandchildren, Brooke Barritt, Luke Erwin, Jackson Scott, Elliott Scott, Jessica Barnum and two great-grandchildren, Morgan Barnum, Brock Barnum; and his favorite lap dog, Sophie.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Russell Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Causey Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR. (www.jonesservice.com)
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
