Delores J. "Jeannie" Mikeska passed away March 8, 2012 at her home in Rosenberg surrounded by her family. She was born October 18, 1936 in Rosenberg to the late Jerry and Libby (Walenta) Luksa. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and member of First Presbyterian Church where she served in many capacities which included being a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a choir director and sang in the choir for over 55 years. Over an 18 year span at Lamar Consolidated School District, Jeannie was the only secretary that worked under three principals and she worked at the Head Start Program at LCISD. Her hobbies included, traveling the world, camping, sewing and quilting. Jeannie is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Melvin "Mickey" Mikeska; children, Mark Mikeska, Greg Mikeska and wife, Sherri, Brent Mikeska and wife, Linda, Terri Bumpers and husband, Jacky and Glenn Mikeska and wife, Melinda; grandchildren, Jennifer Campbell and husband, Thomas, Tiffany Craig, Lauren Craig, Cody and Casey Mikeska, Arin and Ashlin Bumpers, Nathanael, Micah, Gracie, Ellison and Gabriel Mikeska; great grandchildren, McKenna Campbell, Noah Patterson and Eason Campbell; brother, Norman Luksa and wife, Myrna; along with other relatives and friends. The family will receive guests from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday March 11, 2012 in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church, 1400 Radio Lane, Rosenberg, Texas 77471. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pastor Rhonda Detenbeck will officiate the services. Pallbearers are Mark Mikeska, Greg Mikeska, Brent Mikeska, Glenn Mikeska, Jacky Bumpers and Zayne Luksa. Honorary pallbearers will include Cody Mikeska and Arin Bumpers. For those wishing, memorials in Jeannie's name may be made to First Presbyterian Church, General Fund, 1400 Radio Lane, Rosenberg, Texas 77471. Words of condolence may be left for the Mikeska family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com.
