Gale F. Gall of Springfield passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 10, 1946, the son of Russel and Vera Gall of Essex, Illinois who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by sibling-like cousins Bonita Riggs and Noreen Coty. Gale was a graduate of Reddick High School and Bradley University. He worked for the State of Illinois for 32 years and retired from the State Comptroller's Office in 2002. He was a past president and member of the Central Illinois Rose Society. He is survived by his wife Rosemary; two sons, Michael (Amy) of St. Charles, Missouri and Timothy of Chicago, Illinois; his beloved grandchildren Caleb, Rachael and Andrew; sister-in-law and brother-in-law; a niece and nephew; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., with Rev. Robert J. Jallas celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Church, 245 North Amos, Springfield, Illinois, 62702 or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave., 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851, www.themmrf.org.
