Bobbie L. Ogdon Obituary

Bobbie LaVerne Ogdon, 92, a lifelong resident of Springtown, AR, died peacefully at her home June 19, 2009. She was born February 2, 1917 to Homer and Laura Reynolds Ogdon. Her parents and brother, Reynolds Bagby, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her family: George and Betty True Clark, Debbie and John Taylor, Janice and Joe Smith, Marion and Sterling Pollard, Darleen Evans and Carl Allen, Rick and Debbie True, Carla and John Beeman, Bobbi, Ron and Ethan Sligar, Vicki, Gerald and Raegan Edmondson, Sherri Ward and Tyson Ward, Karla Lemke and Dustin, Kyle, Krista and Jonathan Lemke, Carl Lemke, Norma Bagby, DeeDee and Don Hockett, Don and Charlene Bagby, Bill and Deb Bagby and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bobbie was a longtime member of the Victory Missionary Baptist Church of Gentry where she taught Sunday school for many years.
She worked at Allen's Canning Company and some area poultry operations including Plus Poultry, Tyson's of Springdale and the Gentry Hatchery before retiring to babysit full time.
She was active in her community as a member of the Springtown Extension Homemakers Club and she organized the annual Springtown Christmas Program for many years. She also hosted an annual Easter egg hunt at her home for her Sunday school class and area children. She especially enjoyed making quilts to give as gifts, tending her garden, reading, avidly following the Razorbacks sports programs and attending the games and events that her grandchildren participated in.
Bobbie devoted her life to the care of others and will always affectionately be known as "Grandma Bobbie" to the many children and adults who passed through her doors. She was a Mother, Grandmother, friend, teacher and inspiration to everyone that knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Gentry at 10:30am. Pastor Larry Hendren will officiate the services with burial being held at the Springtown Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 22, 2009 from 5pm to 7pm.
